BASIC ANATOMY
Wire Skeleton: A Yarn Cat’s body shape is determined by a few metal wires which are linked together to form a general feline shape. These wires are somewhat thin, and should leave a guideline for how the yarn should be wrapped to form the body, this means that the wire-work should have a 3D effect. The wire skeleton can be made out of any malleable metal. |
Woolly Heart: In the chest cavity, a small woolly heart is suspended by a thin metal chain anchored at the back. A Yarn Cat’s Woolly Heart is warm to the touch, and can be known to glow when it is loved. The Heart is hollow and created in similar fashion as the body (wiring, then bound with wool), with a tiny bell loose on the inside. This bell can be heard with movement. A Yarn Cat’s Woolly Heart can be of any color or material. |
Yarn Fur: The outside “Fur” of a Yarn Cat is composed of a layer of string that is wrapped around the Wire Skeleton in tight knit rows, or threads. Each “Thread” of the fur must almost never overlap (excluding body creases + rare fur types). With this design concept, a number of unique fur layouts can be created. For example, spiraled/curved or cross-stitched fur threads. When designing your Yarn Cat, each thread must be colored individually (to simulate dyed yarn/threads). This adds a new level of strategy to the standard coloring, as well as diversity. Fur can be of almost any color or material (given rarity restrictions), but will change over time (see Age + Visible Wear). |
Eyes & Misc. Detail: Yarn Cats can have any type of eyes that you use for real-life crafting (Buttons, Googly-Eyes, Plastic, Fabric). These are attached with glue or sewn on directly and can be of any shape, type or color. Details such as the nose and inner ear should be sewn on with standard sewing thread. Though in rare cases plastic, realistic shaped noses and features may be used. |
